Abstract: Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA), with size larger than 200 nucleotides, is a new class of noncoding RNA. Emerging evidence has revealed that lncRNAs play a key role in the regulation of immunological functions and autoimmunity, thereby participate in the onset and development of rheumatic diseases. Herein, we review the recent findings of lncRNA regulation in immune functions and in the development of rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Sjogren syndrome (SS), osteoarthritis (OA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS).
